After needing an overtime win to beat Fife Flyers on Saturday night, Belfast Giants picked up a deserved 5-2 win on the road on Sunday to complete a four-point opening weekend in the Premier Sports Challenge Cup.
Chad Butcher opened the scoring 5:19 into the game, but the visitors were pegged back by Zack Phillips equalising for the Flyers just under eight minutes later.
The hosts were briefly ahead when Shaw Cameron netted at 26:13, but only for 39 seconds as Will Cullen struck straight back. David Gilbert's powerplay goal at 30:50 put the Giants back ahead, but it was Scott Conway's shorthanded marker at 37:56 that turned the game and put Belfast two ahead. Conway added his team's fifth 6:49 into period three for the game's last goal.
