Flames take OT win after late Blaze equaliser

A tight and dramatic game at the Guildford Spectrum saw just four goals through 60 minutes, one being disallowed in overtime, and then an overtime winner eight seconds from the end of the bonus period!

The scoring was reserved for the opening four minutes, and closing nine in an intense and fast-skating battle in front of 1,626 fans.

Johan Eriksson opened the scoring at 2:58 on a 2-on-1 rush, however the Blaze were level less than a minute later on the powerplay through Marley Quince's one-timer in the slot.

Guildford were back in the lead with 8:05 to play through Ia McNulty, but there was more drama to come. Both Owen Griffiths and Peter Crinella both missed chances to score on the empty net inside the final minute, and the Flames were left to rue those missed chances when Kim Tallberg backhanded the puck over the line from close range.

If that wasn't dramatic enough, the Flames then had a goal washed out for goaltender interference in overtime before Bradley Lalonde crashed a shot past Paavo Hölsä to get the Flames the extra point with eight seconds left in OT.
