Guildford Flames notched their third win of Week 3 with a 3-2 Premier Sports Challenge Cup victory in Cardiff over the Devils on Sunday afternoon.
Bradley Lalonde crashed a one-timer high past Taran Kozun to open the scoring at 8:57 for the first period's only goal. With 32:19 on the board, former Devil Ben O'Connor was given time to wind up a slapshot from the circle which flew past Kozun to double the visitors' lead.
The hosts were on the board two minutes into period three when Riley Brandt tipped Brodie Reid's floated shot past Eamon McAdam. However, the Flames were back two ahead just over eight minutes later on the powerplay thanks to Daniel Tedesco's one-timer from the slot from Peter Crinella's feed.
Reid scored on a powerplay with five seconds left to make the final score 2-3 in favour of the Flames - Guilford's second win in Cardiff in eight days.
