Coventry Blaze maintained their unbeaten start in the 2022/23 Premier Sports elite League thanks to a one-goal home win over Fife Flyers on Sunday night.

The 1,742 fans at the Skydome had to wait until 18:40 of the first period for the game's first goal through Brady Norrish in a period where the home side created the better opportunities.

Marley Quince finished from Nathanael Halbert's pass to put the Blaze two up on the powerplay at 36:54, however Fife hit straight back through Janne Kivilahti from close range 30 seconds later to make it a 2-1 game.

Colton Yellow horn neatly one-timed Jack Billing's well-placed pass home with 9:40 to play to put the Blaze back two ahead, but Kivilahti struck against with seven seconds left to again bring the Flyers back to within a goal.

An icing call with 0.7 seconds left gave the Flyers one last chance to tie things up, but the Blaze blocked the puck and held on for another home win and stay top of the table.
