Manchester Storm completed their first four-point weekend under new Head Coach Matt Ginn thanks to a 6-3 home win over Glasgow Clan, condemning the Scottish side to their sixth defeat in a row.
Cam Critchlow needed just 58 seconds to open the scoring, deflecting home Jesper Ohrvall's pass from the top of the crease.
Jake Bricknell doubled the home side's lead 8:35 into period two with a wrist shot from the slot that Ty Taylor may not have seen all of, and just over three minutes later Ohrvall made it 3-1 on the powerplay. Nolan LaPorte got Clan on the board at 35:45 to leave them just two behind after 40 minutes.
Rya Barrow converted a penalty shot at 45:38 to give the home side some breathing room, and although LaPorte pulled things back to 4-2 with 10:12 to play the home side seemed to be in control. That was until Gergely Tóth's rocket of a shot brought the score back to 4-3 with 56:25 on the clock to bring Clan back to within one - only for Cole Carter to put Storm back two ahead 50 seconds later. Dallas Ehrhardt hit the empty net with 1:45 to play to round off the Storm's win.
