Steelers edge past Blaze

Sheffield Steelers made it a four-point weekend with a 3-2 road victory against Coventry, the first time this season that the Blaze have failed to pick up a point over a weekend.
IT was a scrappy game at the Skydome between two teams who'd made excellent starts to the season, but failed to get too much going through 40 minutes. Sam Jones shot form the point opened the scoring 5:53 into period two, however Coventry were level less than five minutes later thanks to Marly Quince's seventh goal in nine games.
Robert Down capitalised on a turnover by the Blaze in their own zone to eventually come through and force the puck over the line 2:03 into the third period, but again the hosts responded quickly with Colton Yellow Horn levelling on the powerplay at 44:38.
Kevin Schulze's wrist shot beat Jordan Hedley to put the Steelers ahead with five minutes to go, but the visitors were grateful to their penalty kill for holding on to the lead - killing over a minute of 5-on-3 time for the Blaze inside the final four minutes.
