Blaze win third in a row
Despite a late flourish, the Blaze hold on for the two points
Coventry Blaze vs Glasgow Clan
It was a ten-goal thriller at the Sky Dome as the Blaze take 2 points.
Chase Gresock gave Coventry the lead 4 minutes and 11 seconds into the first period with a powerplay goal assisted by Kim Talberg.
Nick Seitz added a second just two minutes before the end of period one to give the hosts a two-goal lead heading into the break.
It took the Blaze just two minutes to pick up where they left off in the second period with Alessio Luciani extending Coventry's lead to 3.
At the 29:45 mark, Gresock found the back of the net for the second time and put the Blaze four in front.
It took Glasgow just 1 minute and 58 seconds cut the deficit back to three goals as Keaton Jameson got the Clan on the board.
The three-goal deficit was short lived however, as the Blaze continued to push and fired home a fifth goal through Terrance Amorosa at the 34:43 mark.
Despite a quite start to the third period from both teams, Steven Seigo added a second to the Clans tally with twelve minutes remaining in the game.
Just six minutes later, the Blaze once again extended their lead to four goals via Morten Jurgens.
In the final two minutes of the game, the Clan added two consolation goals coming from Steven Seigo for his second of the night at 58:39 and Matt Stief at 59:49.
After the game, Grayston Constable had this to say,
“We are playing like it's playoffs right now, we know all these teams are really tight, and we know there's teams that are chasing us for our position, so we know it feels like it's do or die for us, which I think is something that we need, especially going into the first round of playoffs.”
