All eyes are on south Wales tonight as Cardiff Devils host Nottingham Panthers for the first time in competitive action this season.
Both sides have had indifferent starts to the season but are hoping to have turned corners. The Devils were without a Challenge Cup win until last weekend, but that victory over Coventry was followed by shutting out Manchester for a four-point weekend.
The Panthers ended a disappointing run with an overtime win over Sheffield and thrashing Dundee, before losing against the Steelers last weekend by a single goal.
Cardiff, despite their poor start to the cup, have a 100% league record through four games so far this season, with goalie Ben Bowns leading the league on 95.05% shots saved. Panthers starter Alex Dubeau sits on 88,89 through three league fixtures.
These teams met in preseason with the Devils taking wins in both games.
