Devils cruise past Panthers on Friday night

Cardiff Devils moved into second place in the Premier Sports Elite League standings thanks to a 5-1 win over Nottingham Panthers on Friday night.
The Devils, who have yet to drop a point in the league this season, were ahead were ahead at 10:43 through Jake Coughler who beat Alex Dubeau low glove side from the slot.
Josh Waller doubled the lead with a neat deke in front of Dubeau off a well-placed pass from Brodie Reid.
Jeremy Welsh pulled a goal back for the Panthers at 34:09, but just 34 seconds later Joey Martin re-established the home side's two-goal advantage. Blake Thompson hit the empty net with 3:03 to play, while Marcus Crawford scored after a bad-tempered final few minutes to make it a final 5-1 scoreline.
