Stevenson fined for Charging

Clan forward receives fine

The Premier Sports Elite League's Department of Player safety has fined Glasgow Clan #26 Dyson Stevenson for an incident in the Game between the Clan and Flames on 15 October 2022.

Flames Forward #8 Ryan Tait is breaking out of the zone, being pressured by Clan #37 Laporte. With Tait engaged with Laporte, Tait makes a pass, releasing the puck as he hits the Blue line.

With Tait no longer in possession of the puck and outside of the timeframe where he is eligible to be considered in possession of the puck and legally checked, Stevenson makes a late, illegal check on Tait at the bottom of the referee's crease. 

The intent of a body check is to separate the puck from the player and not to separate the player from the game, as was the outcome of this illegal hit. This incident will be recorded on the player's record for the remainder of the 2022/23 season.
