Belfast Giants got off to a winning start on their Week 7 road trip with a two-goal victory over Cardiff Devils live on Premier Sports at Ice Arena Wales.
Colby McAuley stole the puck in the neutral zone and set up Ben Lake to open the scoring at 7:34, followed by David Goodwin doubling the lead a little under seven minutes later.
The visitors were three ahead with 3:42 left in period two thanks to Scott Conway jamming home a loose puck in front of Ben Bowns.
Down 3-0 with only 20 minutes of regulation left, the Devils came out with a response in the third. Trevor Cox scored on the powerplay just 24 seconds into the period, off a well-placed Joey Martin pass, before Blake Thompson fired home from the slot with 10:29 to play.
The home side's momentum was crushed just 71 seconds later, however, when Mark Cooper's throw out in front of the net was tapped in at the back post by David Goodwin to make it 4-2.
