Coventry Blaze ended a run of three straight league losses with an overtime win over Glasgow Clan on Sunday night.
Gary Haden opened the scoring for the Glasgow Clan inside two minutes, tipping Mitch Jones' shot behind Pavel Hölsä at 1:59. That lead was gone before the halfway mark of the period, however, as Mitch Cook tied the game up for the Blaze by netting his own rebound at 9:58.
Glasgow regained the lead at 22:53, with Haden scoring his second goal of the game on a quick breakaway. The Blaze were level under three minutes later though thanks to Johnny Curran one-timing Nathanael Halbert's pass into John Muse's net.
Coventry started the third period strong and took the lead at 47:06 through Jack Billings tipping Halbert's effort past Musel. This time it was Clan's turn to come from behind, and they did so 67 seconds later thanks to Mitch Cook's first goal of the season. The hosts had the better of the pressure as the game wore on, but were unable to beat Muse again and the game headed into overtime.
Curran was the home side's hero 2:16 into bonus hockey to earn Coventry the extra point.
