Coventry Blaze recorded their third straight win over Dundee Stars this season with a 4-0 victory at the Skydome live on Viaplay.
The opening period was end to end with very little time to breathe or transitional play. The hosts opened the scoring just over 11 minutes in when Garrett Johnston took Nathan Ripley's pass at the top of the crease and shot towards Anton Svensson - after Johnston and a host of other players crashed the net, the goal was signalled with the referees explaining that the puck had never been fully covered, and trickled over the line in the aftermath.
Two goals in under 50 seconds put the Blaze in control in period two. John Curran took Kim Tallberg's pass and fired home from the slot at 35:26 before Colton Yellow Horn's rocket shot from the point flew past Svensson into the top corner at 36:25.
Peyton Frantti scored on the powerplay to keep the hosts hot with the extra man, while Paavo Hölsä held on for a 20-shot shutout.
