Tonight: Steelers face Devils LIVE on Viaplay

We're live on Viaplay this Wednesday night for Viaplay Challenge Cup Quarter-Final first-leg action at the Utilita Arena.

Sheffield Steelers host Cardiff Devils at 7.30pm in a repeat of the 2022 Semi-Final. The Devils have won five straight games in Sheffield, including that semi and on Saturday just gone, a record stretching back to September 2021. 

The Steelers came through Group C topping the standings, securing first place with two games to go and winning six of their eight games. That seeded them second overall for the knockout stages. Following that defeat to the Devils last weekend, Sheffield were beaten in Coventry in a shootout, giving them just one shootout win from their last four games played.

Cardiff started the cup terribly. Brodie Dupont's team lost all four of their opening games in the competition before winning the remaining four to earn their place in the next round, eventually seeded seventh. In league action, the Devils have won their last three games straight and only lost one of their last five in regulation since being thrashed in Belfast.
