Cardiff Devils face Sheffield Steelers in their Viaplay Challenge Cup Quarter-Final second leg knowing they have an uphill task if they want to make it to the next stage of the competition.
After last week's defeat in Sheffield, the Devils head into the return leg 5-1 down on aggregate and needing to win tonight's game by four goal to force the game into overtime at minimum.
That could be a tough ask. The Steelers have given up an average of just 1.88 goals in 21 league games, and 2.88 across eight in the cup group stage, while Matt Greenfield leads the league for turning away an average of 92.92% of the shots he faces.
The Devils' last home win against Sheffield was in overtime on 18 December 2021, but they will remember their famous Semi-Final comeback of 2018 where they overturned a 6-2 first leg deficit with a 7-1 win at Ice Arena Wales.
Since the teams met a week ago, the Steelers won both of their road games in Scotland by a combined score of 12-2, while the Devils beat Belfast at home before going down in Nottingham.
