Panthers get first win over Flyers

Nottingham Panthers backed up their midweek cup win over Belfast Giants with a solid road display to beat fife Flyers by three goals in league action in Kirkcaldy.

Adam Brady found Brett Welychka in space at the fast post to put the visitors ahead with 7:08 played in Fife, while with 1:44 left in the opening period Tanner Sorenson found Mike Hammond for the blue line slapshot to double the Panthers' lead.

Brady reacted fastest to a rebound from a David Levin shot at the top of the crease to make ith 3-0 just past the 28-minute mark of the game as the Panthers took control of things.

Levin them scored his side's fourth of the night with a little under six minutes to play. It looked as if the impressive Alex Dubeau was going to hold on for a shutout, with with nine seconds left Jordan Kelsall inadvertently deflected Brayden Sherbinin's shot past his own goalie to put the Flyers on the board.
