Nottingham Panthers survived a Glasgow Clan fightback to take a two-goal win on Friday night.

The Panthers led at 12:29 when Mike Hammond finished off an excellent pass from JC Brassard for the only goal of the opening period.

Matthew Myers doubled the home side's lead shorthanded at 26:29 before Brassard was credited for a goal that bounced in off the unlucky John Muse's glove as the puck rebounded from behind the net. With the game threatening to run away from the Clan, Gary Haden pulled one back at 29:13, and just over three and a half minutes later Andre McLean finished nicely to bring the visitors back to within one.

As the clock ticked down, Clan had a shot hit the inside of the post and pop back out again as they tried to tie the game, while at the other end Myers crashed a shot off the crossbar with just over three minutes to go. Muse was pulled for the extra attacker with 80 seconds to play, and Dyson Stevenson had an almost immediate chance to bring his side level but for Alex Dubeau's save.

Myers' assist on Stephen Anderson's empty-net goal was his 600th point in the Viaplay Elite League.
