Belfast Giants and Nottingham Panthers hit the ice on Wednesday night at the SSE Arena hoping to book their place in the Semi-Finals of the Viaplay Challenge Cup 20223.
The Panthers won the first leg 3-2 before Christmas in a game where the Giants had led 2-0. They were in the middle of a five-game winning streak when that victory over the Giants happened, but since Christmas have won one from four.
Belfast have won seven straight games since that defeat to the Panthers in December and have won four straight on their own ice by a combined score of 21-7. The Giants won the cup in 2022 and have won three of the past four competitions. The Panthers won six of eight titles from 2008-2006 with Corey Neilson.
