Sheffield Steelers have boosted their roster with the return of Marc-Olivier Vallerand for the remainder of the season.
The forward played this season in the ICEHL for Slovenian side HK Olimpija in Ljubljana, scoring five goals in 17 games, with another eight assists to his name. With Olimpija off the pace in the race for the Qualification Round, the Canadian was released.
“With Ljubljana falling out of the playoff race this option became available to us in the last days and are happy we could get it done," explained Head Coach Aaron Fox.
“We know exactly what we are getting here and he will inject some energy and instant offense into our group. Marco also plays a very reliable two-way game which is very important here down the stretch.
"He’s been a premium player for us and we are excited to add him back into our line-up. We are working hard behind the scenes and hoping to have him join us in Belfast for this weekend's games."
Vallerand's ITC clearance has already been received, making him eligible for selection on Friday night.
