Clan back into playoff places

Glasgow Clan moved back ahead of Fife into the playoff places thanks to a two-goal win over their Scottish rivals from Kirkcaldy on Saturday night at a sold-out Braehead Arena.
Clan took a two-goal lead into the first break thanks to two neat finishes in the latter half of the opening period. Brad Kennedy shot smartly into Shane Owen's top corner using the defenseman as a screen to put the hosts ahead at 14:22, while Steven McParland had the back-post finish off a Dyson Stevenson feed as Clan doubled their lead on another rush with 65 seconds left in the first.
Gary Haden put the Clan three ahead 28 seconds into period two to give his side a sizeable advantage, although Fife did think they'd equalised in the latter half of the period only for the goal to be ruled out for goalie interference.
Chris Gerrie pulled one back for the Flyers with just over six minutes to go, and despite a late penalty on McParland giving the visitors a man advantage plus the extra skater on an empty net, they couldn't force a further way back into the game.
