Saturday: Flames go for early advantage against Flyers

Guildford Flames could be back top of the Viaplay Elite League on Saturday, if only by virtue of playing an hour earlier than everyone else, when they take on Fife Flyers at 6pm.
The Flames start 60 minutes before leaders Belfast and could have tied them on points before the Giants have started the third period in Glasgow, and would momentarily go top by virtue of having played fewer games.
However, the hosts will have their work cut out against a Flyers side that only conceded one goal from open play in last week's league action. What may be more worrying for the visitors is that they didn't manage a goal themselves in either of those games.

At 7pm leaders Belfast face off in Glasgow against playoff-chasing Clan. Clan will only have two home games left and seven overall after this game, leaving them running out of runway if they want to secure a spot in the post-season.
Belfast head into a Scottish double-header weekend two points clear at the top of the table, and having not lost in the league for since 20 January - a run stretching back nine games.
