In their retro Braehead jerseys, Glasgow Clan edged past Fife Flyers for a crucial win in the race for the playoffs, putting themselves back into the top eight.
Chris Lawrence opened the scoring at 10:39 with a well-placed shot past a screened Ty Taylor, but the Flyers could only hold that lead for a little over three minutes until Steven McParland beat Owen 1-on-0 to tie the game.
A tic-tac-toe play incolding McParland, Andrew McLean and finished by Gary Haden put Clan ahead on the powerplay at 27:28, while Shane Owen kept the Flyers in the game with a wonderful double save before the period was out.
Colton Waltz found the empty net from his own zone with 1:38 to play to put Clan 3-1 up, but Mikael Johansson struck back 22 seconds later to give the Flyers a chance of tying things up. Stephen Dixon scored the home side's second empty netter of the night to complete a 4-2 win with 22 seconds to go.
