Coventry Blaze made it a fourth win against sides in the top four oner the last three weeks with an overtime victory in Cardiff, giving goalie Miklós Rajna his fourth straight victory for the team.
It was a lively start at Ice Arena Wales with two goals in the opening period. Justin Crandall put the Devils ahead with 10:42 played, only for Tyler Kirkup to continue his impressive start for the Blaze with the tying goal at 14:39.
Josh Waller roofed a rebound from a Justin Crandall shot to give the Devils a goal on their faltering powerplay 2:57 into period two to put them back ahead, but the lead lasted under ten minutes with a Ross Venus shot from the blue line getting all the way through at 31:05.
Trevor Cox put the Devils back ahead 3:02 into period three, but just over three minutes later a Mitch Cook shot took a deflection and slipped through Ben Bowns' five-hole for a tied game at 46:08.
There was no winner in overtime so for the third time this season in Cardiff the teams played overtime. Coventry got the bonus point with Brady Norrish converting from John Curran's feed in front at 63:43.
