Coventry Blaze avenged their home defeat to Dundee 24 hours earlier with a road win on Tayside over the Stars on Sunday evening.
Payton Frantti's attempted wrap around hit Drydn Dow and went over the line to put the Blaze ahead with 2:46 played at the Dundee Ice Arena, but the hosts were level at 10:16 through the aforementioned Dow on a loose puck after Jonathan McBean redirected Erik Naslund's shot to leave Paavo Hölsä stranded. Mitch Cook put the visitors back ahead some three minutes later with Mitch Cook finishing in front, but Philippe Sanche tied the game again with 67 seconds remaining in the period.
Coventry led for a third time through an Alex Forbes wrist shot from the slot that beat Anton Svensson five-hole at 28:54, but that lead lasted barely 90 seconds until Johan Eriksson set up Carter Folk on a 2-on-1 rush to make it three each. Two minutes later, Tyler Kirkup finished as the Blaze broke 3-on-1, while John Curran's goal with 1:23 left in the middle period put the Blaze into a more comfortable two-goal lead.
John Curran scored the only goal of period three to cement a solid road win for the Blaze.
