If the Giants win tonight, the league title becomes a mathematical possibility. The only way it's possible is to then win on Saturday against Manchester, and hope Guildford drop points in Dundee.
The Giants have won four of five meetings against the Steelers this season, including both in Belfast and the most recent - a 4-0 victory in Sheffield last weekend. That said, two of those games were decided by a single goal, and another by only two.
Sheffield are in a strange position. While mathematically not out of the title race, they would be relying on both Belfast and Guildford to drop a serious amount of points to let them back into the race. What the Steelers are looking to do is finish as high as possible to get better playoff seeding - they can still finish anywhere from second to fourth. Points here will give them an advantage going into two games against fourth-placed Cardiff.
12 March 2022 was the Steelers' last win in Belfast.
