McNally suspended for continuing an altercation
Steelers forward receives suspension
Following the Jones hit on Foley, an altercation ensues involving multiple players from both teams. The linesmen intervene in an attempt to separate players. Jones is removed from the scrum and exits the ice surface towards the Steelers' locker room as instructed.
McNally continues to engage multiple opposing players while being instructed to stop by the Officials. Both Linesmen get involved and, instead of releasing, McNally attempts to throw punches over the top of them before eventually being separated.
As he is being escorted towards the exit to the locker room by the linesman, McNally, instead of exiting the ice surface as instructed, proceeds to grab Giants’ Scott Conway in an attempt to start a further altercation. McNally continues to resist the linesman and does not leave the ice surface. Eventually, McNally is removed from the ice after further remonstrating with the officials and attempting to start further altercations.
For the safety of officials and players alike, the rules and instructions given especially in situations like these are to be respected and followed at all times by all players.
