Saturday: League title could be won LIVE on Viaplay Xtra

The league trophy could be won live on Viaplay Xtra this Saturday night, but it could also be taken into the final day.

Belfast Giants have the opportunity to win their third successive league title if they can beat Guildford Flames at a sold-out SSE Arena. Any win for the Giants will do, be it in regulation, after overtime or in a shootout.

For the Flames, the task is simple: stop Belfast winning and have a shot at their first-ever league title on Sunday. The Flames can also afford to get the win after regulation, but if the Giants do pick up a point that further limits the path to the title that would be open for the Flames on Sunday.

Belfast have more regulation wins than the Flames and so could not be caught if the teams ended the season tied, meaning the trophy is in play for the Giants tonight.

Viaplay Xtra is available live and free on Sky channel 420 and Virgin channel 553. It’ll also be available on the Viaplay streaming service and Amazon, although access to these platforms will still require a subscription.
