Fife Flyers go into their final league game on Sunday night still with a chance at making the 2023 playoffs after a 4-0 victory over Dundee Stars.

A win was what Fife needed, but it took the hosts until after the midway point of the game to finally break the deadlock against their local rivals. Mikael Johansson and Dillon Lawrence struck 49 seconds apart to put the Flyers two ahead, with Zack Phillips' goal at 37:40 making it a three-goal lead.

Johansson rounded off the win at 42:29 with the game's final goal to keep the Flyers alive.

They stayed in the running for a playoff place thanks to a Sheffield Steelers comeback win over Glasgow Clan. Robert Dowd gave the Steelers a late first-period lead, but goals from Gary Haden, John Dunbar and Gabriel Chabot in just over three minutes put Clan 3-1 up by 26:39. Brett Neumann got the Steelers back to one behind at 28:56, before Danny Kristo levelled the game at 38:50. Neumann scored again with 51 seconds left in the period to complete the turnaround.

Dowd made it 5-3 3:51 into period three, before Mitch Jones pulled a late one back for Clan.

Fife head to Guildford on Sunday needing to win to make the playoffs while Clan will be hoping for a favour from the Flames.
