Tonight: Danny Stewart's Testimonial

7pm at the Skydome, Coventry

Coventry Blaze Head Coach Danny Stewart celebrates his testimonial in Coventry this Saturday evening at the Skydome honouring his service to the Blaze as both a player and a coach.

Stewart, a native of Fort McMurray, Canada, first joined the organisation in 2006 and over four years played a big part in Blaze’s major successes, winning the Elite League Championship on three occasions, while also securing the Challenge Cup and Knock-Out Cup.

In 2010, Stewart moved on to play for and coach the Newcastle Vipers before spending five years in Scotland with the Fife Flyers as a player and associate coach.

He retired from playing in 2016 and returned to Coventry as Head Coach. Now 43-years-old, Stewart is in his sixth straight season as Blaze coach and seventh year, which includes leading the club in the Elite Series during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Totalling 11 years with the organisation as a player and coach, the Blaze felt Danny was deserving of this honour as tribute to his dedication, outstanding contribution both on and off the ice and his commitment to the club over a substantial period of time.

Danny’s testimonial will also serve as a celebration of Blaze history with a host of popular players from their history back in the city to support Danny and excited re-connect with fans.  These include Neal Martin, Dan Carlson, Trevor Koenig, Peter Hirsch and more.
