Forward Matt Alvaro is the latest addition to Guildford Flames' roster for the 2023/24 season.
The 27-year-old Canadian spent the last two seasons in the ECHL where he scored 35 goals and assisted 46 others in 118 games for Fort Wayne Komets. Prior to turning pro, Alvaro spent four seasons at the University of Vermot, clocking up 51 points in 123 appearances in the NCAA.
"Matt played the last couple of seasons with Anthony Petruzzelli so they come in as a couple of guys who already know each other which in our experience tends to help with them adjust a little quicker when they arrive," explained Head Coach Paul Dixon.
"Matt was very successful with the Komets the last couple of seasons, and during his college hockey career, so he definitely adds another skilled dimension to our line up. On top of that he brings a lot of experience as a professional and from his college days, including leadership qualities as demonstrated by his selection as a Captain at Vermont and in his final junior year.
"He is a great addition to the club and we look forward to seeing him here next month."
