Bjorkung added to Panthers' blue line

Swedish defenseman Victor Bjorkung has joined Nottingham Panthers for the 2023/24 season.
The 30-year-old arrives at the Motorpoint Arena spent a season and a half with Banská Bystrica in Slovakia before moving to SønderjyskE in Denmark in January of this year. His time in Slovakia saw him end with 27 points in 57 regular season games, while he logged nine points in 15 Danish league and playoff games combined.
After two seasons in the NCAA at Ohio State, Bjorkung returned to Sweden for a season in the HockeyAllsvenskan before moving to Denmark for two years. He later signed for Frisk Asker in Norway, winning a championship there and playing for the side in the Champions Hockey League.
"Victor is a great skater and a player that is able to be responsible on both sides of the ice," explained Head Coach Jonathan Paredes. "He plays hard in all situations and is a player that has a very high compete level. Victor has extensive Europe experience which will be important for us. We look forward to having him with us in Nottingham and being part of an exciting roster."
