New Glasgow Clan Head Coach Jason Morgan will see his side take to the ice in pre-season for the first time this weekend as Clan head to Cardiff for back-to-back exhibition games against the Devils.
Clan go into the 2023/24 with a buzz around Braehead Arena. The summer takeover, the new Head Coach, and a franchise season ticket record well and truly smashed have all seen Clan head into the new campaign with renewed optimism.
"It’s a big test for us moving forward this weekend in Cardiff," said Morgan ahead of the weekend. "After the first few days, I have to say I’m happy with the make-up of our team. There’s been good energy and enthusiasm the guys have brought to practice. We have a great group and we’re already a close-knit family. You can see the chemistry forming already off the ice which is working on the ice.
"I really feel like we have the chemistry in all four of our lines and the quality, so far, is running throughout the team. But it’s a chance for my assistant, Jeff Battah and I to evaluate us in a game situation and an opportunity to see where we are. We know the calibre of the team Cardiff have, being one of the more successful teams in the league.
"They’ve been together two and a half weeks and have four games under their belt so they’ve shaken the rust off. It’s going to be nice to see us in a game atmosphere against a high-end opponent like Cardiff. I know they’re skilled and talented and will be a great test for us after the week we’ve had."
