A clinical Belfast Giants display saw them come away from Glasgow with a 5-2 victory over the Clan in pre-season action on Friday night.
In front of over 3,500 fans as Clan returned home for their new beginnings, it was the Giants - playing their first game since. 4-0 Champions Hockey League win over Bolzano - who led after 20 minutes through Ara Nazarian. Travis Brown's shorthanded goal 72 seconds into period two was a deflating start to the second for the hosts who then found themselves three down thanks to Quinn Preston with 26:17 played.
Jake Bolton got Clan on the board with 7:50 to play in the middle period, but another Preston goal restored the Giants' three-goal advantage.
Jordan Cownie was the fortunate recipient of a deflection to give him an empty net to aim at 3:49 into period three, but the home side were unable to get themselves further back into the game and it fell to Matt McLeod to round things off with 51 seconds to play.
