Tuesday: Giants with chance for a shot at CHL Last 16

Belfast Giants host Red Bull Salzburg on Tuesday evening in Champions Hockey League action knowing a win will give then a shot at making the competition's last 16.

Both the Giants and Salzburg have a win each from four games played in this season's CHL, and are each two points off a place in the next round with a pair of games left. Whoever wins tonight will go into Gameday 6 with the chance of making the last 16, while the losers will find themselves eliminated from advancing depending on results elsewhere.

Red Bull Salzburg have twice visited EIHL arenas in the CHL. They were beaten in Sheffield in the early years of the competition, but thrashed Cardiff a couple of seasons later. They sit top of the ICEHL with 21 points form eight games played (three-point system), having only lost one game so far this season - an OT defeat to Innsbruck, who the Giants lost to narrowly on Gameday 3.
