Glasgow Clan got their second home win of the season with a 4-1 derby victory over Dundee Stars in the Challenge Cup.
Having come off the back of three straight home games going past 60 minutes and only getting a point out of them, Clan had an excellent opening period with two goals inside a five-minute spell. Gary Haden got both of the goals - the first, at 9:53, saw him pick up a loose puck after a Nate Kallen shot that Michael Pelech had also tried to fire into the net; while the second was a neat one-time finish from close range off an excellent Darien Craighead pass.
Haden was also instrumental in Clan's third which all-but killed off the game. He played the pass into Pelech to finish shorthanded at 32:38 to make it a three-goal lead for the home side. Philippe Sanche scored against his former team some four minutes later to add to the visitors' misery.
Ryan Valentini added a consolation for the Stars 7:40 into period three, but they went down 4-1 despite out-shooting their hosts 38 to 31.
