Sunday: Steelers aiming for four-point lead

Week 5 of the 2023/24 season comes to an end with three league fixtures on Sunday.

In the day's 4pm league start, Sheffield Steelers could go four points clear at the top of the EIHL table when they face Fife Flyers at the Utilita Arena. Both sides come into this game off the back of wins on Saturday night - the Steelers coming away from Nottingham with a 4-1 victory, and the Flyers shutting out Guildford 3-0. Fife have yet to lose in regulation in three league fixtures so far this season, and are the only team to take Belfast past 60 minutes.

At 5pm, Dundee Stars host Nottingham Panthers eight days after the sides met south of the border. That night, the Panthers won in overtime after a low-scoring, yet physical meeting at the Motorpoint Arena. That was Dundee's only point in their last five games, and Head Coach Marc LeFebvre has bemoaned their lack of recent scoring. The Panthers went down 4-1 at home to Sheffield yesterday in cup action, in a performance described by Jonathan Paredes as "not enough".

Manchester Storm and Cardiff Devils face off at the Storm Shelter less than 24 hours after the Welsh side recorded a 3-1 win at the Vindico Arena. Storm still sit fourth in the league table after their impressive start, but the Devils can climb into that top four with a win here.
