Sheffield Steelers logged a four-point weekend across league and cup action thanks to an overtime victory over Coventry Blaze on Sunday afternoon.

Returning to the Utilita Arena for the first time since the tragic events of October, the Steelers' pre-game ceremony honoured Adam Johnson as well as marking Remembrance Sunday.

When the game began, it was the home side that had the ideal start - just 7:45 on the clock when Brett Neumann finished a Daniel Ciampini pass breaking 2-on-0 to put the home side ahead.

That was a lead the Steelers held well into the final ten minutes of the game, with both side's penalty kills coming up big in the opening 47 minutes.

JD Dudek levelled for the Blaze with 9:23 to play, although his side were forced to play almost all of the final two minutes shorthanded with Alessio Luciani called on a Tripping minor. The Blaze held out there to earn their second point of the seaosn in Sheffield, but, as before they were beaten in overtime - captain Robert Dowd scoring the winner 2:43 into the bonus period.
