Nottingham Panthers won their first road game since returning to competitive fixtures with a 4-2 victory over Cardiff Devils at a sold out Vindico Arena in Wales.
Alexander Lunsjo opened the scoring just over seven minutes in, and then doubled the visitors' lead at 11:56 to put them in control.
4:44 into period two, Joey Martin converted a Westin Michaud Slashing minor to bring the Devils back to within one, but two goals in under as many minutes firmly turned the game in favour of the Panthers.
Ben Bowns denied Hugo Roy's shot on the rush, but his pad save fell straight on the stick of Otto Nieminen who fired home the loose puck to make it 3-1 at 34:46. Under two minutes later, Didrik Henbrandt then put the Panthers 4-1 ahead.
Rok Stojanovič stopped 44 shots including 16 of 17 he faced in the final period as the Devils searched for a way back into the game. Riley Brandy grabbed a late consolation with nine seconds remaining as the Panthers took a 4-2 win.
