Paré suspended for three games
Panthers forward receives suspension
On Sunday night at the Skydome, Panthers forward #29 Felix Paré was assessed a 5-minute major penalty plus game misconduct for head-butting Blaze centre #27 Ian McNulty.
As the video shows, the play is stopped at the Coventry net and a small scrum ensues with players from both teams. After the initial scrum dissipates, Paré engages McNulty, through direct contact with his head directly contacting McNulty in the visor / face area. This is head-butting.
It is important to note this is not deemed an incidental type movement, where two players’ heads can make contact within an ice battle. Instead, it is deemed that Paré made a direct, purposeful and deliberate head movement directly at McNulty, striking McNulty in the head. Considering McNulty does not engage in an aggressive manner, Paré, fully aware of McNulty, deliberately and dangerously uses his head as the main and only force of contact with a head-butt that raises to the level for supplemental discipline.
To Summarise:
- Head-Butting
- No History: Paré has neither been fined nor suspended during the EIHL 2023/24 season
Effective immediately Nottingham Panthers #29 Felix Paré is fined and suspended for three games.
The Panthers were informed of this suspension on Thursday evening.
