Friday: Clan and Blaze meet again

Week 22's weekend hockey starts at Braehead Arena on Friday night, with a clash of two teams who enjoy going the distance against each other.

If previous games between the teams this season are anything to go by, anything other than a result decided in overtime or a shootout will be a somewhat of a shock tonight. All five meetings between the teams so far in 2023/24 have gone beyond 60 minutes, with three decided in OT (all won by the Blaze), and two on penalty shots.

Wednesday night's overtime win for the Blaze snapped a three-game losing streak for Danny Stewart's men, and kept them in fifth with a little breathing space above Dundee. Glasgow moved back into the playoff places by picking up that OT point at the Skydome, but have lost six straight in all competitions.
