Sheffield Steelers' hopes of a Grand Slam in 2023/24 are still very much alive after a convincing Quarter-Final series win over Fife fFyers.
Heading up to Kirkcaldy with a 9-4 aggregate lead, the Steelers were always going to be favourites for the tie. They edged further ahead with goals six minutes apart from Kevin Tansey and Mikko Juusola to end the opening period two up on the night.
Marc-Olivier Vallerand made it three 9:24 into period two as the visitors - icing Anthony Morrone and down three skaters, were in complete control.
Colin Shirley gave the good crowd in Fife something to cheer about with the Flyers' only goal of the game with 5:33 to go, but Brett Neumann raced through to beat Owen to give the Steelers the last laugh with 48 seconds remaining.
The Steelers advanced 13-5 on aggregate, though Flyers fans left with smiles on their faces after Tom Coolen announced his contract extension on the ice to a raucous reception.
