Nottingham Panthers announced on Tuesday evening that Head Coach Jonathan Paredes will not be returning to the team in 2024/25.

The Frenchman will be taking up an opportunity elsewhere in Europe in the new season.

"I would like to thank the amazing #PanthersNation for their support this past season," began Paredes. "I have never known a fanbase like it and the backing throughout the season was fantastic. They lifted us when we were down and the noise in the arena was incredible week after week.

"The emotion when the overtime goal went in against Manchester will live with me for a long time. Nottingham will always have a special place in my heart. Thank you."

Panthers CEO Omar Pacha said: "Jonathan is a great coach but an even better human being. He made a positive impact to all players and staff.

“His impact on and off the ice was huge. He was loved by his dressing room and by the fans too. I couldn’t be prouder of all the efforts and work he did for this club.

“In the most difficult of years that any coach will ever have to endure, Jonathan was our leader and acted with dignity and professionalism all-year long.

“It’s definitely sad that he is moving away but Jonathan wanted to be closer to his family and that is completely understandable after a very challenging season on and off the ice.

"There is a lot of excitement heading into next season and we have a number of pieces in place already. The process for finding new coach has also already begun.

“We won't rush the appointment as we want to make sure we find the right person to lead us forward, but we expect to be in a position to announce our new coach in the upcoming weeks.”
