There's no better feeling than the start of a new hockey season ... well, perhaps winning trophies at the end of it!

For six teams, the dream of lifting Elite League silverware starts tonight as season 2024/25 gets underway. It's Challenge Cup action in all three games.

Dundee Stars host Belfast Giants at 7pm for Stars' home opener, coming after three home pre-season games. Dundee beat Fife twice in warm-up for the new season, but were beaten in two further games by the University of Quebec. It will be the first game GB International Ben O'Connor has played for the Stars after missing pre-season with the national team. Belfast also welcome back a host of players who missed last weekend with Team GB, although returning forward Scott Conway didn't feature through injury. The injured Zak Galambos has not been added to the Giants' opening roster.

In Manchester, also at 7pm, the Storm host Guildford Flames for their first game of the season. It'll be the competitive debut for new Storm Head Coach Mike Flanagan, who saw his team win three of their four pre-season matches. The Flames had two wins over Amiens in their exhibition fixtures as they head on the road to open up the new campaign.

Finally, it'll be a busy night in the Auld Barn in Kirkcaldy when Fife Flyers take on Glasgow Clan from 7.15pm. Clan have no home games in the opening weeks of the season and their fans are set to turn out in big numbers, with seated tickets for visiting fans already sold out. Indeed, a large turnout from home supporters too saw over 2,000 tickets sold by Friday evening. Supporters attending this game are strongly advised to buy before travelling.
