Over 6,000 fans saw a crazy game in Belfast where the Giants eventually ran out overtime winners by the odd goal in 11!
Belfast went a goal ahead through Joe Cassetti with under 90 seconds played at the SSE Arena, but found themselves 3-1 down by the end of the first period. Jake Elmer finished nicely on the breakaway at 5:25 to level the game, followed by Brendan Harms taking advantage of a big rebound off a Ben O'Connor shot. Cameron Kielly finished neatly from the slot to put the Stars two ahead with 10:25 played.
Scott Conway's first goal back for the Giants saw him sweep the puck into Richard Sabol's net 17 seconds into period two, but the Giants were back two behind when Cole MacDonald beat Tom McCollum from a tight angle.
Jordan Kawaguchi started the Giants' comeback at 32:04 with a back-post tap-in after excellent skating from Kyle Osterberg, while Bobo Carpenter found the top corner of Sabol's net to tie the game with 4:07 left in the second.
Belfast re-took the lead for the first time since the opening period thanks to Conway feeding JJ Piccinich 5:25 into period three. The scoring wasn’t done there, though, with Dundee level again thanks to Harms’ second of the game coming at 48:16.
In the end, it was only fair that both sides took a point as the game headed into overtime. The Stars had a handful of chances to get themselves the extra point, but eventually It was Jordan Kawaguchi who broke the tie to earn the Giants the OT win.
