Ehrhardt suspended for two games

Storm defenceman receives suspension

On Saturday night in Manchester, Storm defenceman #10 Dallas Ehrhardt was assessed a penalty for Unsportsmanlike Conduct.

At 09.36, Belfast Giants forward #15 Bobo Carpenter delivered a hit to Storm forward #17 Alexis D’Aoust, which the referees determined to be a two-minute minor penalty for an Illegal Check to the Head.

After the hit, both Carpenter and D’Aoust skated up the ice to re-join the play. Immediately after seeing his teammate receive the hit, Storm defenceman #10 Dallas Ehrhardt chases after Carpenter and initially slashes him in the torso, to which Carpenter does not react.

Ehrhardt then takes matters further by chasing Carpenter up the ice, dropping his gloves, grabbing Carpenter by the collar with his left hand and delivering a sucker punch with his right hand to the left side of Bobo Carpenter's face/head area. This is a ‘Sucker Punch’ and is not a hockey play.

It is important to note that at no time in the sequence does Carpenter show any interest in engaging with Ehrhardt in this manner. Ehrhardt is seeking retribution for the hit a few seconds earlier. Players are at no time allowed to grossly violate league rules in retribution or retaliation for hits thrown on them/their teammates, legal or otherwise.

To Summarise:

  • 46.5 - Dangerous Puncher - “Sucker-Puncher”

Effective immediately Manchester Storm's Dallas Ehrhardt is fined and suspended for two games.
