Glasgow Clan celebrated their second home win this week with a 5-2 Challenge Cup victory over Scottish rivals Dundee Stars.

Mitchell Heard got the full house at Braehead Arena going with a powerplay goal 7:28 into the game, one-timing Liam Finlay's pass past Richard Sabol from a tight angle.

Felix Pare made it 2-0 5:11 into period two after the Stars failed to clear their zone, and he pounced on a deflection to double the lead. Under three minutes later, that became 3-0 when Rylan Schwartz's shot beat Sabol low to give Clan a 3-0 advantage with 28:01 on the clock.

Keaton Jamieson cut in from the wing and netted backhand to make it 4-0 with 2:21 left in the period and leave Clan in total control.

Kameron Kielly puleld one back for the Stars 5:38 into period three, followed just under two minutes later by Jake Elmer's powerplay goal which suddenly brought the Stars back to within two. Sabol left with almost two minutes to go, but, just six seconds after he was pulled for the extra attacker, Tyson McLellan hit the empty net to wrap things up for Clan.
