Storm win second in a row, move into third

Manchester Storm won their second straight home game and moved into third place in the league table with a 7-3 win over Glasgow Clan on Friday night at the Storm Shelter.
The hosts raced into an early lead, going two up inside seven minutes.Tyler Hinam carried the puck into the offensive zone himself and shot high past Landon Bow to open the scoring with 3:48 played, followed by Grant Herbert's first of the night at 6:10 as he followed up on a Ryan Hughes shot.
Steven Seigo pulled one back for Clan at 16:22, but just 44 seconds later Loren Ulett stopped CJ Garcia's shot in front and picked his spot pasr Bow to make it 3-1.
Hughes, who assisted on both of the first two Storm goals on the night, got his own 5:32 into the second with a 2-on-1 breakaway that saw him slot past Bow, while Joe Hazeldine kept Clan in things with a powerplay goal just over two minutes later.
However, Hughes won the puck in the neutral zone and then skated through to deke Bow and make it 5-2 with 3:08 left in the period to give Storm a three-goal lead through 40 minutes.
Herbert scored his second of the game 5:14 into period three, and while Clan scored their third powerplay goal of the night through Deven Sideroff at 48:33 the Storm were in total control. Herbert netted again with 3:46 to play on an empty net to complete a hat trick in a big home league win for the Storm.
