Sheffield Steelers scored six goals in the final 30 minutes of the game to come form behind and beat Dundee Stars 6-1 on Wednesday night at Sheffield Arena.
Dundee had by far the better of the opening period and led by one after 20 minutes - but arguably should have been ahead by more. Drydn Dow put the visitors ahead 6:16 into the game with a neat shot to the top corner of Matt Greenfield's net. Alex Tongue and Brendan Harms called Greenfield into excellent close-range saves before the period was out at the visitors took their advantage into the break, and restricted the hosts to few chances.
Sheffield turned the game with three goals under as many minutes. Mitchell Balmas tapped home an excellent pass from Sacha Guimond at 34:08 to tie the game, while Patrick Watling put the hosts ahead at 35:15. 22 seconds later, Mikko Juusola tipped Kevin Tansey's shot past Richard Sabol. The game officials reviewed for a high stick, but gave the goal after reviewing the video angles available to them at the time.
Juusola added his second 2:30 into the final period, while a Balmas Snipe at 49:52 and a Robert Dowd goal with 1:17 to play wrapped things up for the Steelers.
