Two Challenge Cup games take place on Saturday night in Week 8 of the 2024/25 Elite Ice Hockey League season.
In Group A, Sheffield Steelers host Cardiff Devils in a game between two teams who both still have realistic shots of topping the group. This game may go a long way to deciding who does, although the teams still have to meet again in Wales before the group phase is over. Sheffield have 11 points from six games and sit second, while the Devils have only played four Cup fixtures and five points from them. This is the first meeting between the teams in competitive action this season, although the Steelers comfortably won two pre-season games.

Group B action sees Glasgow Clan entertain Fife Flyers. Clan currently occupy second place in the group, four points ahead of the Flyers on the same number of games played. Fife are unlikely to catch leaders Belfast, but could haul back Glasgow with some good results, including between the teams. A win for Clan tonight would move them six points ahead of the Flyers with only four games left for each team to play.
