Wednesday: Clan and Giants with eyes on next round

Glasgow Clan host Belfast Giants in Challenge Cup action on Wednesday night with both teams hoping to put themselves in advantageous positions for the next rounds.

Clan and the Giants are both through from Group B. Glasgow will go into the 'Elimination Game' against a team from Group A, and have two games left to try and get their win percentage high enough to enable them to get that game on their ice.

Belfast have already won Group B, but need to better Sheffield's win percentage (currently at 83%, compared to the Giants' 90%) to ensure they finish as the first overall seeds heading into the Semi-Finals.

Clan beat the Giants when the teams last met at Braehead Arena, 3-1. The following night, they scored two late goals to earn a point in Belfast before going down 4-3 in overtime. The Giants won the other meeting between the teams 3-0.
